Palomar Laser Treatments
The Palomar Fractional laser is a non ablative laser (sending light pulses into the deep layers of skin while leaving the outer layer of skin intact). This allows little down time and a faster recovery.
The process promotes new healthy tissue which improves the skin appearance and texture. The Fractional laser can eliminate sun spots and minimize sun damage. In some cases patients experience skin tightening.
Most patient’s experience lingering redness/pink, warm and swelling or tightness to the treated area. This usually subsides within a few hours of the treatment. Dr. Milan recommends the use of ice or gel packs for first 24-48 hours following the procedure.
Dr. Milan recommends a three to five treatments. Five treatments for more severe sun damage or to maximize skin tightness. The treatments are typically spaced 3-5 weeks apart. Improvements in the appearance of your skin will continue 6-12 months after your last treatment.
At the present time the Fractional laser is only indicated for facial and neck treatment and is still in the test stages for the abdomen and other body areas.
